They say locals know the best spots—and when it comes to dining on 30A, that couldn't be more true. Today, our photographers, armed with more than just cameras, are sharing their insider's guide to the area's top restaurants. Get ready to dive in—this list will have you craving a seat at the table.

Prema 30A

Tucked along the scenic stretch of Highway 30A, Prema Organic Café is a quiet oasis of health and love. This charming spot offers a menu focused on fresh, organic bites, founded by local health enthusiasts Kelli and Dr. Bart Precourt, who also run the nearby Balance Health Studio. From smoothies to rejuvenating juices, Prema is a place where convenience meets nourishment, serving vegetarian and vegan dishes that are as wholesome as they are delicious.

Despite its modest size, Prema's heart is enormous, and its acai bowl is legendary. One of our photographers named it their favorite on 30A, claiming it to be "the best acai bowl in the world" and something they'd eat daily if they could. If that isn't a glowing endorsement, we don't know what is.

And while the food steals the show, Prema's laid-back vibe is completed by its lovable bulldogs, who run the place with their irresistible charm. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or a moment of peace, Prema will surely leave you feeling nourished inside and out.

Papa Surf Burger Bar

In the heart of Santa Rosa Beach, Papa Surf Burger Bar brings together great food, a lively atmosphere, and a touch of history, making it a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. The brainchild of Brian and Brittney Kelley, who partnered with country music star Jason Aldean and baseball legend Tom Glavine, this burger bar is housed in a historic building that has been lovingly renovated to offer a lively, beach-inspired vibe.

The name "Papa Surf" speaks to the partners' shared love for the coast, a sentiment flowing throughout the space. Surrounded by heritage citrus trees, influencing some of the menu's fresh offerings, Papa Surf is a perfect blend of flavor, nostalgia, and beachside fun. If you're looking for a satisfying bite, the Beach Cowboy Burger is a must-try. With bold flavors and a juicy, perfectly cooked patty, it's a burger that hits every time. As one of our photographers put it: "It has a laid-back vibe, making it the perfect spot to relax, enjoy live music, and savor a burger that never disappoints."

Whether grabbing a bite after a day at the beach or winding down with friends to the sound of live tunes, Papa Surf has a vibe that makes it easy to stay awhile and enjoy everything this local favorite offers.

Shunk Gulley

At the edge of Blue Mountain Beach, Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar offers much more than just incredible food—it's a place steeped in local history and surrounded by breathtaking views. Named after the Shunk family, one of the area's original settlers, Shunk Gulley profoundly connects to the Gulf Coast's rich fishing heritage. The name comes from when fishermen, navigating without modern equipment, would launch their boats from what is now Ed Walline Beach Access, heading straight toward the "Shunk Gulley" landmark—a prime fishing spot known for its abundance. Today, the restaurant honors that legacy, serving up some of the freshest oysters on 30A while offering guests a front-row seat to the stunning Gulf waters.

Our photographer's top pick? The oysters—both in flavor and price, they're a standout. Whether you're soaking in the salty breeze from the tower or catching a vibrant sunset from the patio, the view is just as unforgettable as the food. Our photographer said, "You can't beat the combination of the best-priced oysters and the most incredible view on 30A." With its rich history, mouthwatering oysters, and relaxed beach atmosphere, Shunk Gulley is a place that never fails to impress.

Mi Casita

Located just across the street from the beach, Mi Casita is a go-to spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine with a side of convenience. Whether looking for a quick bite after a day on the sand or a tasty lunch spot, this casual eatery delivers every time. The food comes out fast and always fresh, making it the perfect choice for a flavorful meal without the wait. Our photographer's go-to order? Four steak tacos, which they describe as a must-try—perfectly seasoned and always satisfying. With its laid-back vibe and consistently great food, Mi Casita is a place you can count on for a delicious, no-fuss meal right by the beach.

For the Health of It

For the Health of It is a haven for anyone looking to nourish their body inside and out. Specializing in certified organic produce, fresh made-to-order juices and smoothies, and an extensive selection of natural groceries, it's the perfect spot for those prioritizing health and wellness. What does our photographer suggest? The Blue Mystic smoothie, a refreshing blend packed with nutrients, and the Local Wrap offer a wholesome and satisfying bite. Whether you're picking up organic supplements or stocking fresh produce, the knowledgeable and friendly staff are always there to help guide you to the best choices for your health. With over 25 years in business, For the Health of It has become a local gem where you can fuel your body with the best.
